    Colorado Pet Overpopulation Fund

    Animal Friends Alliance receives generous grant funding each year from the Colorado Pet Overpopulation Fund (CPOF) that supports medical care for our shelter animals and supports our Prevent A Litter Plus (PAL+) program. You can contribute to CPOF by registering your vehicle with an “Adopt a Shelter Pet” license plate or designating a portion of your state tax refund to CPOF on the Voluntary Contributions Schedule.

ITEMS WE CAN’T ACCEPT

Thank you for thinking of us and the animals, but we cannot accept the following:

  • Sheets, comforters, pillows, mattresses, mattress pads, foam bedding, and other thick or large bedding with stuffing or multiple layers. We cannot sanitize these materials safely.

  • Large/stuffed pet beds

  • Wire crates

  • Large or extra large dog crates

  • Used litter boxes or litter scoops

  • Outdoor dog housing

  • Heavily used collars, leashes, and harnesses

  • Cat trees

  • Baby gates

  • Medications

  • Crunchy, biscuit-style dog treats (e.g. Milkbones)
