INFO & PRICING
Our clinic provides affordable, high-quality services for dog and cat owners, as well as caretakers of feral and barn cats. Everything we do is focused on preventing pet overpopulation and protecting pets from disease.
We are a nonprofit, subsidized clinic committed to safe, compassionate care. All spay and neuter procedures are performed by licensed Colorado veterinarians with extensive experience, and our team completes more than 6,000 spay and neuter surgeries each year. VACCINE CLINICs
Just looking for vaccines? Animal Friends Alliance holds vaccine clinics approximately once a week in Fort Collins (at our clinic, 2321 E. Mulberry St., Unit 3) and the first Saturday of every month at Hank’s Pet Food Market in Loveland (2287 W Eisenhower Blvd, Loveland, CO 80537).
Vaccines are available by appointment only (no walk-ins) and require a non-refundable veterinary exam fee ($15 per pet) to reserve your slot and time. We accept credit/debit cards (including CareCredit and Scratchpay) and cash. We are unable to accept checks.
If your pet has had previous vaccinations, please bring any and all records you have with you. Vaccine durations are based on prior vaccine history. We are unable to provide 3-year rabies vaccines and/or other CORE vaccinations (FVRCP/distemper-parvo vaccinations) without legal proof of prior records.
Effective immediately, we are no longer able to accomodate more than three pets per household for wellness visits.
Always check our Calendar of Events for dates and locations.
Animal Friends Alliance takes staff safety as a top priority. All cats need to be in secured clean carriers and dogs need to be on a leash. If your animal is behaving unpredictably, aggressively, or exhibiting high signs of fear or stress, we have the right to refuse services. If your animal has a history of these behaviors, please contact us before scheduling for additional resources or support.
Please call 970-484-1861 for any further questions.
Dog & cat servces
Rabies vaccine is required!
All animals serviced at our clinic must be up-to-date on their rabies vaccination, or receive the vaccination in our clinic at the time of surgery for $30. If your pet is up-to-date on rabies you will need to bring proof on the day of their appointment in the form of a rabies certificate from a qualified veterinarian. Rabies tags will not be considered proof of inoculation.
HEARTWORM TESTING & PREVENTION
If you would like to purchase heartworm prevention, your dog must be seen by our veterinarian and must have either a heartworm test within the last year and a current prescription for heartworm prevention or have a heartworm test performed during their visit.
At Animal Friends Alliance, we recommend annual heartworm testing and monthly heartworm prevention for the life of the pet. Fort Collins and Larimer County have a high rate of heartworm infection based on the American Heartworm Society’s incidence map.
We require a veterinary exam at the time of the heartworm test during our vaccine clinics to establish a client-patient-veterinarian relationship. Animal Friends Alliance tests all dogs 7 months and older. It is suggested to bring in your dog for a current weight if you are refilling for a 6 month heartworm preventative refill if you did not obtain a 12 month supply at the time of your original appointment.
soft claws & application
Soft Claws nail caps are a simple solution when pet scratching is a problem and a preferred alternative to declawing. Soft Claws do not interfere with the normal extension and retraction of your cat’s claws.
If your cat has a spay/neuter scheduled at our Public Mulberry Clinic we can apply soft claws during their procedure. If your cat is not scheduled for a procedure, we can apply the soft claws at our Taft Hill shelter by appointment only. To schedule your cat’s soft claw application, call us at 970-484-8516 ext. 1.
