CAT SERVICES
Our clinic provides affordable, high-quality services for dog and cat owners, as well as caretakers of feral and barn cats. Everything we do is focused on preventing pet overpopulation and protecting pets from disease.
We are a nonprofit, low-cost clinic committed to safe, compassionate care. All spay and neuter procedures are performed by licensed Colorado veterinarians with extensive experience, and our team completes more than 6,000 spay and neuter surgeries each year. Because we are supported by generous donors and grant funding, we’re able to keep our services accessible to the community while maintaining the highest standards of care.

SPAY/NEUTER PRICING PACKAGES
A $50 deposit, per pet, is required for all surgery appointments at time of scheduling and will be applied toward the fees listed below. If you cancel your appointment at least 48 hours prior to surgery, your deposit can be transferred to a future appointment, or donated to Animal Friends Alliance. It is NOT refundable.
ALL CAT SURGERIES INCLUDE:
Veterinary exam, surgery, and a 72-hour extended-release pain medication injection.
All animals Animal Friends Alliance performs a spay-neuter on are tattooed: Your pet will receive a small, green tattoo near the incision site. This tattoo is not another incision – it is just a small score in the top layers of the skin filled with tattoo ink and covered with surgical glue. The tattoo will ensure that anyone examining your animal will know they have been previously spayed or neutered, and it’s especially helpful if your pet were ever lost and found. When your pet’s fur grows back after surgery, the tattoo isn’t normally visible.

Brachycephalic breeds are animals that are prone to difficulty breathing due to shortened noses and skulls. Brachycephalic animals may have more difficulty with thermoregulation and can be prone to other health concerns as a result. The most common brachycephalic animals include Pugs, French and English Bulldogs, and Himalayan and Persian cats, among others. Our team must provide extra care and support for these animals to keep them safe during surgical procedures, such as administering supplemental oxygen, modified or extra anesthetic, and administering Cerenia, an antiemetic medication preventing nausea and vomiting.
The Brachycephalic Package will be added as a surcharge for pet owners of these breeds undergoing surgical procedures, as this helps us cover the cost of the additional time and supplies needed to keep these pets safe.

soft claws & application
Soft Claws nail caps are a simple solution when pet scratching is a problem and a preferred alternative to declawing. Soft Claws do not interfere with the normal extension and retraction of your cat’s claws.
If your cat has a spay/neuter scheduled at our Public Mulberry Clinic we can apply soft claws during their procedure. If your cat is not scheduled for a procedure, we can apply the soft claws at our Taft Hill shelter by appointment only.
To schedule your cat’s soft claw application, call us at 970-484-8516 ext. 1.
